Hrllo Eric and hello to the forum.
Is possible to know the user password and the root password of the 4.0 version?
This can help to resolve the “fatal error: no screen found” on some hardware.
Also is possible to use the vesa driver by default in the new iso 's?
Thanks for all

No password by default on the live system.
Re: Some suggestion and search for help in GhostBSD 4.0
Eric I can confirm the problem.
I'm using a Dell Latitude C640 laptop and the server X don't start.
I use Ctrl+Alt+F2 and I login as user "root" and I press Enter. There is no password here.
I using this trick:
http://wiki.ghostbsd.org/index.php?titl ... n_found%22
to let start the X server and when I need to login as a user I need to use a password.
I can start the X server only if I login as root, but I can't install GhostBSD, the installation fail.
It's a pity because this edition is very beautiful and MATE here is very lite and complete.
On my others laptop (Dell Latitude D630 and HP Compaq nx 6310) the live DVD works very well whitout problems.

The user name is ghostbsd, for the password only press enter and you can start GDM true as root.

Hi Eric
thanks but on this laptop GhostBSD 4 don't work.
I have used one DVD and one usb key but I cannot use X as a user.
I can modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf but X start only as root.
If I log as a user (ghostbsd) X don't start and the message is:
Failed to executa the process "usr/local/bin/startx"
exec : Exec format error
The file "usr/local/bin/startx" is marked as an executable but could not be run by the operating system
I come back to plain FreeBSD on this machine

Oh yea true that is due to bug from fish but still that you can start with GDM, login as root use the command gdm.
Re: Some suggestion and search for help in GhostBSD 4.0
I do it but I have this error message:
root@livecd:/home/ghostbsd # gdm
** (gdm-binary:8917): WARNING **: Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager
** (gdm-binary:8917): WARNING **: Could not acquire name; bailing out
Don't worry Eric, this old laptop go to plain FreeBSD
