Mouse lost if USB unplugged then reinserted

Mouse USB is at back of PC, so wrong USB was unplugged and even after reinserting it the mouse did not return. Ghost 20.04, MATE desktop.

What should I do to fix this? I had to reboot to recover.

Should be fixed on the os latest updates.

I have done an update, just need to reboot some time soon before confirming the fix.

It has now stayed usable when I unplug and re-insert the mouse
