Webcam not visible on browser but works on VLC

I've plugged in a Logitec C270 usb webcam. It appears on usbconfig and shows picture on VLC on device video0 but Facebook cannot see it. I've given it permission. How can I debug this?

Which browser are you using?

If you go to https://webcamtests.com/check

Can you see your webcam?

You may need to install some packages then reboot

pkg install webcamd v4l-utils v4l_compat

Then reboot and try again

ok - did the installs worked, webcam tests worked fine, YouTube can see the webcam but Facebook cannot. So this is odd!

You didn't say what browser you are using. Maybe you need to install some plugins for it to work.

I suggest that you install chromium and/or ungoogled-chromium and see if that works.
If it doesn't there's a repo on GitHub called

linux-browser-installer

This will install working Linux versions of the browser you want like chrome etc

Your webcam may work in the Linux versions IDK
