I vaguely recall that before I upgraded emulators/virtualbox-ose and emulators/virtualbox-ose-kmod from (end of life) 5.2.44 to 6.1.18 on the host system, automation did work. Please, can anyone confirm or deny this?

In any case: it might be good for GhostBSD to gain OpenRC variants (where necessary) of the 6.1.18 ports that were recently committed to FreeBSD:

The failure to automatically resize might have been due to VMSVGA.
