It appears that integration is enabled (the option to disable is greyed out, whilst running the guest):

– however the behaviour is as if integration is disabled.

It does not trouble me – I'm happy enough to use the key-based approach to escaping from the guest – but I wonder whether it's a known issue.

Graphics appear to be OK; I can enter and exit seamless mode, and so on.

Apologies for any duplication; the forum will not allow me to seek VirtualBox. Through an alternative search I found just one comparable topic:

GhostBSD 18.10 RC2 in VirtualBox - Forums

I booted the machine again today, no better.

If it helps to diagnose the problem: in addition (and I might have found this in the past), there's occasional misbehaviour of the pointer within the machine.

In the example below, I found it impossible to move the pointer below a certain point, somewhere below one of the dividing lines within the Update Manager window. As if the screen was half-height, or something like that; the pointer hit an invisible horizontal line where I could move it only:
  • from left to right
  • from right to left
  • and up.

If I recall correctly, the invisible mid-way barrier disappeared after I moved the pointer to the top of the screen.
