I deciced to try ghostbsd, so i made a virtual machine with virtual box; i download the iso of the official release from https://www.ghostbsd.org/download, and configure the virtual machine as said in the wiki : https://wiki.ghostbsd.org/index.php/Vir ... figuration.

When i start the virtual machine instead of booting into the live session so i can install it, launche the this

I downloaded another version of ghostbsd but doesn't work, also i gave more ram to the virtual machine but that doesn't work neither. so i dont know how to solve this.

i apreciate any help

Hi, You did not mentioned, which GhostBSD ISO image version is it?

Ghostbsd doesn't seem to like running in virtual machines, they even took guest additions out of the default gBSD install (21.01.15) iso! You'd have better luck with stock FreeBSD +XFCE, guest additions install ok and runs well in VirtualBox.

I did remove it from the ISO because some users were complaining that the installation was not working on 4G, I had to make a cleanup for peoples that still use dinosaur computers.

Also, @mechanic if you are here to promote other projects instead of helping people and helping the project to be better keep your thought for yourself.

if you set it up exactly like in that wiki 1G of ram is not enough. I would recommend 6G to install and 4G after it is installed.

In the absence of a screenshot, I wonder whether you enabled EFI. If so, try the latest ISO without EFI.

4 GB memory is enough for the guest to boot the latest ISO. Confirmed today.

Is the installer memory-hungry? Or 6 GB a general precaution?

I forgot the 6 GB recommendation.

For the record, this probably had 5 GB at the time:

A later attempt succeeded, with 4 GB.
