Hello from Germany, I have been using Linux (Mandrake and Debian) for many years and have two questions about Ghost-BSD: Can I really just use the "Update Station" for a current system and still have an up-to-date system after 2-3 years? Or do I also have to run "autoremove", "clean" or something else? Is a new installation not necessary within a period of 2-4 years? I want to use the system for my private workstation. .... oh yes, I have been testing Ghost-BSD (Mate) for 3 weeks and am impressed by its stability and the variety of programs. die Zukunft sollte mit dem einfachen updaten durch die Update Station gegeben sein.
Ob die Station durch ein Update oder Deinstallation eines Programms noch Wartung durchführt, können Sie ausprobieren.
Einfach Mal etwas installieren,danach wieder entfernen und dann mal mit pkg autoremove und pkg clean -a schauen was die Ergebnisse sind.
Leider nutze ich FreeBSD direkt und kann daher keine präzisere Antwort dazu liefern.
