Yeah recognize that, but do XFCE support GTK3 themes?

Yes. Ambiance Blackout is a gtk 3.18 theme and it looks fine on my computer. There is the font colour problem I mentioned before, but that is a dark theme problem, not a gtk problem.
All applications look fine with the Blackout theme. I searched and got this https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page= ... yd-Updates .
There may be small issues but I haven't found any.
Xfce is currently gtk2 based but many components and apps are now gtk3 supported. Xfce 4.14 will be totally gtk3. We are on 4.12 now.

This is the roadmap for xfce4.14 https://wiki.xfce.org/releng/4.14/roadmap

I hope this helps.

I used Synth and upgraded my computer to Head. The theme I suggested doesn't look so good now. There are a few problems with firefox and evince-lite and also the network monitor icon.

I found a new theme which works perfectly. It's called Blackbird. You can download it from GitHub from here:

Thanks for the link to that theme. I tried it out and everything seems to look fine so this theme is fully compatible with xfce.
Firefox looks fine, catfish (gtk3) looks fine.
The "breeze" icons look a bit faint in Libre Office but other themes are fine. I haven't noticed any other problems.
