How about to start with the machine "as is now" and re-evaluate the situation one week or two later ?
We expect some better result, let see "how much" better.

After all, we decided to go with kraileth server also because of added flexibility.

I'd also suggest to get the server up and running first (so we don't make ASX wait longer than necessary! ). Perhaps we will have to rethink the layout again or something once we have more information about the building process on that machine. It may be easier to pick the right kind of SSD then, too.
