Touchpad on Lenovo 500X Ideapad is "touchy"
Hi, I'm running Ghost on a Lenovo 500X Ideapad. The touchpad is, well, touchy, and there's only two parameters available through the MATE client, acceleration and sensitivity. Neither goes quite far enough. In Linux, the synaptics touchpad driver gives access to multiple other parameters via a comma...

Re: Desktop Icons Won't Li,aunch
Neville: thanks for your prompt response! However, when I tried that, I got no changes. Then, I made a change to double-click timeout in my trackpad settings, and that seemed to fix it. The trackpad on this old machine feels like it needs some help. I'm installing libsynaptics in addition to the x86...

Desktop Icons Won't Launch (Solved)
Hi, I just installed GhostBSD 24 on a Lenovo 500X Touch. I figured out how to install ports and LibreOffice, which IIRC used to be included with the base install, and how to find out my disk capacity with System Monitor since the MATE Disk Usage Analyzer won't work with ZFS. But I have one other pro...

Install Fails with Errors
Hi, I'm trying to install Ghost on a Dell Latitude E6420 with 8 GB of RAM, Intel i5, Intel Mesa HD graphics plus an nVidia 4200N, from a USB. The system detects the USB and loads the iso from it, but I get the following errors when it tries to boot: Unable to connect to X server Connection refused. ...

Re: Basic Install Question
Weird. Linux does not see anything on the USB drive, but it does boot to a certain point. I now have another install problem, but I'll post that separately.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Basic Install Question
chadbsd: Thanks, but I have some years of experience creating USB iso files and installing from them, including for Ghost. RodMyers: what concerns me is not just that my file manager doesn't show any files; it's that the terminal shows a transfer of 2.7 GB in 734 milliseconds. That's not physically ...

Basic Install Question
So..I used GhostBSD in the past, and liked it, but I have to get rid of my towers, so I have procured a Latitude. I downloaded Ghost24, and Properties shows it to be a 2.7 GB iso file. I'm running Ubuntu Studio on my one remaining desktop, and I used Gparted to create a new ms-dos partition table an...

Gnote Won't Open File
This evening, I found that I could not open any Gnote file. This seems to have begun after the last large update, which per the date on the last use of this program, after July 7. The overall program window listing the various note files opens, but none of them will. This does not change whether I o...

Re: RAM
I actually taught OSX at a local technical college for a while, and did some digging into mach kernels and bsd stacks. I agree with you that OSX is not all it's cracked up to be; my favorite flavor was OSX 10.4 on an old Power Mac. Without iTunes, I really have no reason to run Macs any more. I have...
