Re: BSD corrupting CMOS?
GhostBSD is not corrupting your CMOS; if there are system issues involving the CMOS and Graphics card it is more than likely your BIOS. If your CMOS got corrupted there are issues with compatibility and/or video settings possibly instigating the BIOS to activate some type of trouble-shooting system ...

Re: GBSD PCDM Status
Agreed, go for it.ericbsd wrote:It is going on the next release which might be 4.5 or 10.1, I am thinking to use the same numbers that FreeBSD uses, which will be less confusing for people.

GBSD PCDM Status
Quick question Eric: when do you think (best guess) the PCDM will go prime time for GhostBSD - GBSD 5 or is it ready for testing right now? Sounds as though it's a good idea striving toward a more BSD like management system eliminating the need for any possible work arounds, extraneous library requi...

Re: Conky Install Half Working
Oh hey. Thanks for the links. I'm gonna go ahead and bookmark them for future reference. I actually found the .conkyrc file. Apparently, I was searching for it and found a sample config that I was modifying and not the this one. Also, the links above talk about compiling with XFT. It doesn't look l...

Pkgs & Ports List
Below is a list of freeBSD binary packages that are available from the official release 10.1 package repository. GhostBSD can be updated and upgraded to 10.1 - once a satisfactory list of 10.1 software is built a butcher block installation of GhostBSD will be tested at 10.0 for the same packages wit...

Re: Gimp & Wine
Lately a version of wine for the amd64 has been added in to the FreeBSD ports. Good to know. I also just downloaded and installed Wine 1.6 from freeBsd packages repo not even two minutes ago; it is FBSD10.1, but I saw another thread here at GBSD indicating that the underlying FBSD system can be upg...

Re: GhostBSD vs. PC-BSD
Gnome 3 has caused a negative stir and pushed forward a movement toward the Mate desktop. As far as Gnome is concerned Mate focuses on GTK 2 purposely and looks to continue developing the GTK 2 libraries laterally to GTK 3 aiming for comparative quality without the overhead. Systematically GTK 2 and...

Re: Gimp & Wine
WineHQ confirms that wine will compile and operate with freeBSD and DragonFlyBSD. The versions of wine tested vary as do the versions of free and DragonFly BSD distros, but look very promising. The gimp is available as a package from the 10.1 freeBSD repositories - I just now verified it. Gimp requi...
