Perhaps this link will give you some clues. I use a huawei usb modem with MXlinux and that distro uses the usbnet + cdc_ether drivers. Always hooks up for me with MXlinux 17.

Re: installing nvidia driver
Note: If you are using GRUB boot loader then you must load driver with rc.conf: echo 'kld_list="nvidia"' >> /etc/rc.conf If you are using BSD loader you may use loader.conf: echo 'nvidia_load="YES"' >> /boot/loader.conf I have tried both seperately and what happens is it brings m...

Re: pkg update and upgrade hangup
I removed the cups-base package. Then continued with the octopkg upgrade. added kldload "cuse4bsd" & "cuse" to /etc/defaults/rc.conf. Also added gdm_enable=YES to /etc/defaults/rc.conf.

pkg update and upgrade hangup (SOLVED)
Hey there,
After a fresh install of 10.1, i ran pkg update and pkg upgrade. This is the output from the upgrade hangup; pkg: cups-2.1.3_2 conflicts with cups-base-2.0.3_3 (installs files into the same place). Problematic file: /usr/local/bin/cancel So the upgrade did not finish. What to do ?

I have read the Ghost wiki on nvidia driver installation, an...

package and system updates
Hello,
Is there a correct sequence for upgrading packages and system updates ?
should octopkg, update manager, or portsnap fetch be used and in what sequence ?
This will be on a clean install of 10.1 mate.
