Re: xconfig failed to start
Thanks for the tip, slughorn. Still no X or MATE desktop upon reboot, though. When I run rc-status, I find that lightdm and hald have both crashed. Any further suggestions? EDIT: Upon further examination, it appears there were some errors during installation. I reinstalled, and everything is working...

xconfig failed to start
Finally succeeded in installing GhostBSD 20.03 on my ThinkPad T61 with Intel graphics. Upon reboot, however, I am unable to reach X and the MATE desktop. Error message as follows (also see screenshot): /usr/local/etc/init.d/xconfig[2463]: start-stop-daemon: /usr/local/bin/xconfig does not exist star...

Re: HOWTO: IceWM Configuration
I like your IceWM setup, and xfe is my favorite file manager. Is that the 'Shades of Gray' theme?

Re: What desktop or window manager you mostly use and why.
Mac OSX 10.6.8 (this one pays the bills, Mac user since 1986) Slackware 14.1 - framebuffer + tmux or Xfce (either no X session or Xfce; not a fan of Gnome, KDE, or MATE) OpenBSD 5.4 - Xfce (I do like Xfce for a full-featured DE) GhostBSD 3.5 - LXDE (Also like LXDE for a lighweight DE, also like just...

GhostBSD 3.5 LXDE impressions
Hello Eric and all, This will really be more of a stream-of-consciousness post, just rattling off my initial impressions/issues of GhostBSD 3.5 LXDE. The first thing I want to say is that you have crafted a very nice desktop FreeBSD. The attention to aesthetics is appreciated. PC-BSD could take a fe...
